Josh Turner

8:00 p.m.
Tickets $37.00 - $82.50
Josh Turner was born November 20, 1977, and was raised in Hannah, S.C. Growing up in the church, he found himself singing the bass and baritone parts in numerous choirs. After high school, he moved to Nashville to pursue a career in music and enrolled in Belmont University. After college, his fledgling career got a boost on Dec. 21, 2001, during his debut on the Grand Ole Opry, when he debuted a song he wrote titled "Long Black Train." He received a standing ovation in the middle of the song, then sang it again for an encore.
One month after his Opry debut, Turner signed to MCA Nashville. He released his debut album, Long Black Train in 2003, and thanks to the hit title track, it was certified platinum (for shipments of a million copies) by the end of 2004.
In 2006, Turner released his sophomore album, Your Man, and the title track reached No. 1 on Billboard's country airplay chart, as did its follow-up, "Would You Go With Me." The album was certified double platinum.
"Beauty & Melody"

Beauty and Melody offers its audiences a true banquet which evokes centuries of Chinese music and culture. Traditional instruments carry us back to the classical and folk music of ancient dynasties while offering a modern perspective on this charming and exotic musical heritage. Established in 2001, Beauty and Melody is composed of talented young women all of whom have studied in major music conservatories throughout China where they grew not only into professional musicians, but also into accomplished vocalists and dancers. The ensemble’s instruments include the flowing and gentle sounds of bamboo flutes and wind pipes, the beauty of stringed instruments like the ruan and pipa, and the magnificent strength of suona and percussion instruments.
